My Second Rented House in Sri Lanka

After coming back from Sri Lanka in August 2022, I returned to Sri Lanka again in June 2023. Once my last house rent contract is over, we have taken a new rented house in Sri Lanka. The house is just a minute’s walking distance from Kotadeniyawa town.

Let’s visit together to my new rented house in Sri Lanka!

Join us for a virtual tour of My Rented House in Sri Lanka!

It’s a single-stored building made in European style. It has three bedrooms, one drawing space, one dining space, two kitchens, and one toilet. Each room has one large window. I do not have to worry about getting sunlight.

Stuff we fix in-house!

For instance, we have used two beds in two inside bedrooms. In the master bed, we have fixed an Air Conditioner, as the daytime is warmer no than my last visit. The other bedroom is for our twins. As usual, they enjoyed the large white wall and used it as their drawing book. But it is less than before as they are growing up every day.

The surrounding space is not bigger than my last house. But still, it is sufficient for our Dhaka house.

House Surroundings!

At the entrance, you can find a Night Flowering Jasmine tree. I love to collect this flower in the morning. Inside the boundary, there is a small playground for kids. Most of the weekends, kids prefer to take a bath on the playground. You can find Alfanso Tree and Marigolds.

In the backyard, there was a pumpkin plant. We have enjoyed cooking pumpkin leaves. But we have to clean the area because of insects. Now, we have papaya and green chili plants in the backyard.

Similarity with other Houses in Sri Lanka!

Like other houses in Sri Lanka, the owner decorates it with many bulbs. The fittings they have used for the interior are appreciable. The front veranda has two parts. We usually enjoy family time together. We prefer weekend breakfast or evening snacks in this part. Another is for a car. The outer kitchen is also under a shed and has some space for the Bar-B-Q parties.

The inside kitchen has plenty of space and nicely decorated racks. We found the space is sufficient for our kitchen item arrangement.

Water Supply, Own or Government!

The water supply of this house is better than before. The government supply and an underground well are there for water. It has a submergible water pump to pull water from underground to the upper tank. Sewerage and waste management system is also good. I am happy with the water supply in my new rented house in Sri Lanka.

Amazing Electricity Supply in Rented House!

Unlike my last visit, the electricity situation is in a massive improvement. Last year, during the crisis period, there was electricity scarcity. However, the situation is the opposite now.

Neighborhood of My Rented House in Sri Lanka!

The best thing about the house is its location, for instance. Unlike my last house, we have neighbors here. In addition, we have a Bangladeshi family near our house. My kids are very happy about the area of this house.

Kids Party in Rented House!

Within a few days, they make friends. The language is not a barrier to communication that I understood perfectly. Neither my kids nor their friends are speaking well in the same tongue. But still, they are playing together. They used to spend the afternoon together and have some snacks at my house. It looks like a kid’s party. My husband and I are enjoying a lot of their activities.

A Good Singhalese Friend of My Kids in Sri Lanka!

Sabitu, a Singhalese boy, becomes their closest friend. I enjoyed my five years of kids going to various houses and calling the kids to play together. I remember my childhood days. We have traveled to many places during this visit in Sri Lanka. I will share one of the experiences and compare it with my last time experience.
